Thieving Prostitute Jailed

A 24-year-old prostitute, who stole her customer's mobile phone and a wallet containing an amount of ў90,000 and 50 dollars has been jailed 80 days by the White House Magistrate's Court.

Afia Opare Duah, alias Aku, was also bonded to be of good behaviour for two years or in default go to jail for another 270 days.

Prosecuting Sgt. George Amegklor told the court that Randy Akpaloo, the complainant is a clerk and lives at Community Four, Tema while the accused is unemployed and lives at Community Seven.

He said on May 15 at about 1.00 a.m., the complainant approached the accused for sexual services which was agreed upon.

The complaint accordingly took the accused home.

However, when they reached the complainant's room, the accused decided to visit the washroom and was accompanied by the complainant.

On her return for the sexual affair, the complainant also visited the washroom leaving her behind.

The complainant, on his return found the accused missing from the room and his mobile phone valued at ў800,000 stolen.

A further inspection in his pocket revealed that the said amount and the dollars were also missing.

The complainant reported the matter to the Police and the accused was later apprehended with the help of some neighbours.
