MP Funds Projects In 22 Mion Communities

OVER 22 communities in the Mion Constituency in the Northern Region have benefited from various projects to the tune of ў500 million.

The projects were financed from the MP's share of the Common Fund and the HIPC Fund.
The beneficiary communities include Kpalkore, Choggu, Kikpaligu, Sang, Sambu, Tinsung and Bunbongaayili.

Some of the projects are renovation and furnishing of teachers accommodation, desilting of dams and repair of broken down boreholes.

Others are the distribution of 25 solar lamps, 300 cutlasses to farmers, 10,000 exercise books and some computers to needy schools. Also included is sponsorship for brilliant but needy students to further their education.

Briefing the Times after touring his constituency, the MP of the area, Dr. Ahmed Yakubu Alhassan said he uses the “top bottom down” approach where the constituents spell out their demands and based on priority, he tackles them as and when funds are available.
