THE new Twafohene of Buem Traditional Area and Chief of Okadja-krom, Osabarima Antwi Adjei IV, has sworn the oath of allegiance to Nana Aburam Akpandja, Paramount Chief of Buem Traditional Area at a ceremony at Bodada.

Nana Aburam Akpandja, who referred to Nana Osabarima as his younger brother, urged him to accord his people the due respect in order to get the needed co-operation to develop the town. He appealed to him not to lord it over his elders so as to get good counselling from them and run his administration smoothly.
Later in an interview, Nana Osabarima said since his installation four months ago, he had taken steps to instill discipline and to raise the falling standard of education in the town. To this end, a number of committees had been formed to bring sanity in every aspect of life.

On education, Osabarima said various committees had been set up to consult the teachers to ascertain what their problems were in order to find solutions to them and appealed to landlords to make accommodation available to teachers posted to the town.

The Okadjakrom Chief said a funeral committee has also been formed to streamline funeral celebration in the town while children are banned from wake-keepings.

He noted that Okadjakrom was blessed with bamboo groves, sand and quarry sites. A Finance Committee has therefore been formed to manage the sales of the resources.
