The Convention People's Party is feverishly preparing for its national delegates' congress scheduled for July 15, 2006 at Sunyani.
The Congress is to be preceded by a National Executive Council meeting on July 14, 2006.
Sources close to the party say the Central Committee have approved proposals for the holding of the Congress Committee, chaired by Madam Araba- Bentsi- Enchil, First National Vice Chairman.
The Congress will focus primarily on the attainment of total Nkrumahist unity.
It is expected that the Congress will endorse the unity pact between the CPP and the People's National Convention and urge the leadership to find ways of bringing such parties as the Great Consolidated Party and the National Reform Party on the board.
A separate congress for the election of party officers and a presidential candidate is expected to be held next year.
