It was a night to celebrate mothers. And what a night it was.

The National Theatre, venue for Hitz FMs' “Greatest Mum Gospel Show” went into raptures as Ghana's finest gospel musicians took turns to bless mothers in a blissful night of gospel music and words of exhortation to mothers.

But it started slowly as organizers waited patiently for mothers to fill the auditorium. And they filed in, hooked by their husbands, children, in-laws, grandchildren, and the auditorium went agog.

Isaac, Cee, and Ampong, treated the audience to a performance of good music and a display of showmanship, as the mothers sang along, danced and waved their handkerchiefs in jollity.

If the trio excited the crowd, Christiana Love did even better. She gave true definition for womanhood, as she defied her pregnancy and treated the audience to her own genre of gospel music mixed with hilarious and exhilarating dance steps which drew competitors on stage in an attempt to outclass her.

She was joined by contemporary high-life musician, Kwabena Kwabena, who sang to the glory of god.

The night also saw performances from Florence Obinim, Phillipa Baafi, Lady Prempeh, Pastor Joe Bechem, Royal House Chapel Choir and choreography from Royal Ambassadors.

The show drew audience from all spheres of endeavors.

Joyce Aryee, a mother and CEO of Chamber of Mines could not hide her joy as she exhorted mothers for their invaluable role in the world.

Rev. Tetteh Djangmah, host of Counseling session on GTV, admonished mothers to inculcate in the youth good values that will enrich society.

Many mothers who spoke to Myjoyonline after the show said they experienced God's presence as if the heavens had been opened to shower God's blessings upon them.
