Urban youth radio, YFM, has taken a bold step towards using entertainment to empower and inspire young people to excel in life.

On Wednesday the station began the campaign with the launch of its first ever monthly youth empowerment dialogue series dubbed, 'Y Dialogues'.

The 'Y Dialogues' is aimed at youth empowerment, activism, mentorship, entrepreneurship, community engagement and career development.

It intends to assemble celebrated achievers from various fields to share their experiences with the youth and to inspire them to succeed.

In sharing his experiences as an entrepreneur at the maiden edition of the series, multiple award-winning Ghanaian entrepreneur Tonyi Senayah observed that there are numerous business opportunities in the Ghanaian economy for the youth to better their lives, adding that this can only happen when they are ready to take calculated risks.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Horseman Shoes, a footwear manufacturing company in Ghana, pointed out that young entrepreneurs need to understand that hitting the jackpot in the world of business is not an overnight affair.

According to him, the business world is plagued by challenges of all kinds but that that should not scare or prevent young people from venturing into the sector.

He said the youth must understand that with perseverance, hard work and humility, there are no challenges that are insurmountable.

For this reason, he urged that Ghanaian youth who strive to succeed and leave positive legacies for generations to come must always endeavour to work hard and make good use of every opportunity that comes their way.

'Until you arrive, be humble. Always seek knowledge and work hard. Learn to accept mistakes and work on correcting them,' he said.

The Managing Director of Global Media Alliance (GMA), Mother Company of YFM, Akwasi Agyemang, disclosed that moving forward, YFM would want to be known as a radio station that inspires leadership among the youth.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dzifa Gomashie, who officially launched the 'Y Dialogues' series, urged the youth to always view service to humanity as a key ingredient to success in life.

She also urged them to take pride in being Ghanaian and always work to make meaningful impacts on the nation.

YFM is one of the radio stations in Ghana which are focused on imparting knowledge to the youth through edutainment programmes.

The station is known for initiating and hosting events such as the Mpwr show, Y Campus Express (YCE), Area Code Jams and Y Hood Games.
