Thousands of concert party fans in Kumasi on May 1 witnessed the first edition of the Adom TV Concert Party held at the Kumasi Cultural Centre.

A large number of fans who were late and could not have access to the auditorium of the centre due to the massive turn out, had no choice than to watch the event on television sets placed outside the auditorium.

The show, which was packed with a bit of everything, ranging from live concerts, comedy and live musical interludes, witnessed performances from Selina Boateng, Dr Paa Bobo, Agya koo, Kofi Owoahene and Nicholas Omane Acheampong.

Comedians such as Abenkwan, Ghana Boy, Sokoo, Agyaba and Santana also thrilled fans with their various rib-cracking jokes. Drama was provided by Anokyekrom and Asanteman Concert Party groups.

Indeed, the performances by the musicians and comedians sent the enthusiastic crowd into frenzy.

Selina Boateng was superb; all the songs she performed were all that was needed to make a statement about the quality of her songs.

Multi TV, the event organizers, told BEATWAVES the anticipated crowd was about 2400, however the crowd that turned up exceeded 4000, adding, 'This is the reason why we could not accept all those who turned up. Patrons came from very varied places, Obuasi, Sehwi Asawinso, Sunyani, Wa, Tamale to the Kumasi Cultural Centre just to watch Adom TV concert party. The crowd that showed up is a clear indication of the brand power of Multi TV to be able to mobilize such crowds at such short time'.

The organizers indicated that the Adom TV Concert Party show was a TV programme that would be organized by Adom TV every month in Kumasi and Accra and would spread to other regions very soon.
