Selorm is 'Miss Goldenwood'
Miss Selorm Gallery last Thursday won the maiden edition of ‘Miss Goldenwood Beauty Pageant & Talent Hunt’ organised by West Coast Entertainment, Ghana, Ltd.
The event saw 10 contestants namely Abigail Budu, Connie Nartey, Doreen Kumanytum, Esmeralda Arthur, Ida Seidu, Juliet Osei, Manuela Scheppelmann, Nana Adwoa Baafi, Selorm Gallery and Sylvia Aboagye Kesewaa competing for the ultimate prize, Kia Picanto.
During the competition, judges on the night, Fred Amugi and Vivian Achor, took the girls through series of questions after which five of the 10 contestant were evicted. Again the other 5 had to battle their way through by exhibiting their talent and answering the right questions the judges posed to them.
At the end of the day, Selorm Gallery was able to convince the judges and was crowd ‘Miss Goldenwood Beauty Pageant & Talent Hunt’. Sylvia Kesewaa Aboagye came second and Esmeralda Arthur came third.
For her prize, Selorm had a sleek Kia Picanto from Rana Motors, a one-year leading role in movie production and a one-year supply of products from Accra Brewery Limited (ABL). The second place Sylvia Kesewaa Aboagye receives a Plasma TV, a trip to Nigeria for a Film Festival, Sub-lead roles in movies, the third Esmeralda Arthur got a Home Theatre, a trip to Nigeria for a Film Festival and Managing contracts
The finals saw in attendance Ghanaian movie stars such as Martha Ankomah, Juliet Ibrahim, Emelia Brobbey, Yvonne Nelson, Adjetey Anang, Kofi Adjorlolo, Ekow Freeman, Prince David Osei, James Gardner as well as some actors from Nollywood. Also present was singer Irene Logan and the president of Ghana Actors’ Guild, Samuel Odoi Mensah who gave a solidarity message.
In an interview with the CEO of West Coast Entertainment, Ghana, Ltd Chuks Ihenetu, organisers of ‘Miss Goldenwood Beauty Pageant & Talent Hunt’ he explained that it is his wish that the winners become wonderful presenters and actresses, Ghana and Nigeria will ever have.
Explaining why he organised the pageant in Ghana and not Nigeria, he said he is married to a Ghanaian woman and lived here over 15 years hence the reason for organising the pageant in Ghana.
According to him, Ghana has wonderful actors and actresses and he wants to contribute to the great success by nurturing talents who would later become professional actors and contribute to the movie industry. Hip Life artistes Castro, R2bees, D.Cryme, Atumpan, Stay Jay and DSP Kofi Sarpong thrilled the crowd with good music. Amanda Jissih and Nigerian comedian actor Mr. Ibu were the hosts.
