MANAGER OF Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Kofi Appiadu, has told BEATWAVES that the trio's social responsibility will focus solely on education in deprived communities .

According to him, education was the key to the development of individuals and their communities and therefore efforts must be made to ensure that every child or youth was educated irrespective of his/her financial background.

He called on all who are blessed financially to support the needy in society.

Kofi Appiadu spoke to BEATWAVES after a donation by Daughters of Glorious Jesus to a school in Winkongo, a community in the Talensi-Nabdam district in the Upper East region.

The trio donated 1000 pieces of books to pupils of Fountain Gate School in Winkongo.

The pastor in charge of the school and the Fountain Gate Church in Winkongo, Pastor John Adengba, said the school still operated from its original classrooms, which were far inadequate to comfortably accommodate all the children.

He said the children also had to walk long distances to fetch water for use in the school.

Pastor Adengba therefore appealed to Daughters of Glorious Jesus to help the school with a bore hole to help ease the burden on the children.

Daughters of Glorious Jesus, together with a 10-member instrumental crew and management, were in the Upper East region in response to an invitation by Fountain Gate Church to participate in the 2011 edition of Possessing the Land Rally held in Bolgatanga.
