After a fierce 3-month campaign, hiplife artiste, Bice Osei Kuffour has been elected the 7th President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (Musiga) at the 5th Quadrennial Congress held at Tamale on August 18, 2011.

The 3-Day Congress began on August 16 and ended on August 18 at the Radach Memorial Center in Tamale with the 31-year-old Obour (the youngest among four contestants) walking tall with 64 out of a total 139 votes cast.

Voting started at about 11:30 am with ex-president, Mrs. Diana Hopeson, the first to cast her vote, followed by delegates from the Greater Accra, Union Executives, Ashanti region and so on.

In other results, Deborah Freeman was elected General Secretary and Chizzy Wailler, the National Organiser. Bessa Simon is the new second vice President. Kaakyire Kwame Appiah beat incumbent Amandzebaa Nat Brew to win the first vice-President.
