Platform for authentic Ghanaian music at national theatre

Accra, Dec. 6, GNA - Citi 97.3 FM organised, Ghana's number one platform for celebrating authentic Ghanaian music, last Friday at the national theater in Accra.

Musicians including highlife stars such as Ben brako, Oheneba kissi, Bessa Lee, Doudo Simons and Jewel Ackah and Bands like the Rambler's International, exhibited sensational stage craft that sent the audience at auditorium cheering amidst laughter.

Bessa simons told GNA that highlife music was acknowledged world-wide by renowned musicians such as James Brown and advised Ghanaian musicians to desist from music that contained profane lyrics.

Music of Ghanaian Origin's stock continues to rise each year as it tells the story of the origin of Ghanaian music, by lining up carefully selected artistes whose lyrics and instrumentation are etched in the history of Ghanaian music

The event, has for the past four years profiled and featured music icons like the world-acclaimed Osibisa, the Evergreen Ramblers International Band, the legendary Agya Koo Nimo, one of the pioneers of original Ghana highlife, as well as stars like C.K Mann, Papa Yankson, Ben Brako and the Lumba Brothers.

This year's event featured classic highlife musicians like Jewel Ackah, Lee Doudo, Ben Brako, Oheneba kissi and Bessa Simons and the Ramblers Band.
