The King of World Beats, King Sunny Ade will be performing live on stage at Nigeria House, Theatre Royal Stratford East on Tuesday 24 July 2012.

Nigeria House situated at Theatre Royal Stratford East is the hub of all activities promoting Nigeria's rich and diverse cultural heritage and a celebration of the best of Nigerian life and art during the Olympics.

Selling Nigeria to the World: King Sunny Ade will be doing his thing the best way ever in African Yoruba attire. KSA, renowned as one of the most influential musicians in the world music genre will perform at the extravaganza with two other Nigerian stars, Keziah Jones and Bez, showcasing their individual talents.

On 25TH JULY the Nigerian Diasporama All Star band featuring Asa, Dele Sosimi and Tony Allen will perform, followed by Seun Kuti and his Egypt 80 band.

Mr Waheed Olagunju, General Manager, Strategic Planning, of Nigeria's Bank of Industry (BOI), which is sponsoring the Nigerian stars as part of the country's promotion of her culture, said: “Music lovers in London are in for a treat! They will enjoy top Nigerian talent, as we showcase different genres of music for everyone.”

Sunny Ade alone should be more than worth the admission fee. Apart from being an acclaimed international entertainer, King Sunny Ade has collaborated with major artists such as Stevie Wonder, Manu Dibango, Youssou N'Dour and Salif Keita.

Nigeria House will also showcase other creative arts such as Nollywood films, arts and crafts, and fashion exhibitions between 19 July and 12 August. Wole Soyinka's play: The Lion and the Jewel will be staged on Monday 30 July & Tuesday 31 July while Sefi Atta's play: The Naming Ceremony is on Sunday 29 July. The King Must Dance Naked, by Fred Agbeyegbe, will be staged live on Friday 3 August and Saturday 4 August at the same venue.
