Why people have to misinterpret my tweets on Whitney Houston-----Singer Kenny St. Brown
18.02.2012 LISTEN

Singer Kenny St. Brown says she can't understand why people have to misinterpret her tweets after she compared herself to the late American pop star, Whitney Houston.

She says,“I was just pouring out my emotions. I grew up with Whitney Houston's music. My brothers made sure they bought all her albums. She was the biggest black female singer during my time. I slept and woke up dreaming of Whitney. I idolised her and I wanted to be like her.

“I was in the university when Whitney got married, but I still kept the magazine that published her wedding pictures till I got married many years later. I didn't even know I was going to marry a Brown. But when I eventually got married to a Brown; I was happy because Whitney got married to a Brown.

“Shortly after, my own crisis started. But I didn't do drugs like Whitney. It was just God that sustained me. I found out that I didn't have any idol when Whitney went down and I still don't have any idol.”

KSB, who just released her new single, Live your Life, earlier in the week, says she could have died when she had her own crisis.

She says, “My life goes on. I don't blame any anybody. I don't blame my ex-husband. I didn't know anything that could get me out of pain, except God. I was only pouring out my emotions on the tweets. I never knew people would come after me like Tsunami.”

Meanwhile, the controversial tweets read in part, “Irreplaceable Whitney Houston. She inspired me to tango with a hip-hop R and B singer. She inspired me to become Mrs. Brown. Whitney became Mrs. Brown and lost her fame and fortune as she had prophesied. I became Mrs. Brown and I too lost my fame and fortune but I got a turnaround because I conquered my demons. I practised the word instead of drugs. I look forward to meeting my co Mrs. Brown. Tears feel my eyes. And I wonder how my exit will be. But it won't be soon because I've got people to inspire as you did sis.

“Adieu Whitney Houston. We will tell God that you helped so many of us sisters to find our voices. RIP.”
