KT Hammond wins Adansi Asokwa seat

The ruling New Patriotic Party's parliamentary candidate for the Adansi Asokwa constituency, KT Hammond has emerged victorious in the December 7 polls.

He polled 18,250 votes out of 30,750 votes at the parliamentary level.

Joe Osei Owusu retains Bekwai seat for NPP

The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joe Osei Owusu, has retained his parliamentary seat in Bekwai for the ruling New Patriotic Party.

According to certified results, he polled 40,275 votes.

Ablekuma North: NDC agents accuse NPP of plotting to smuggle ballot boxes into collation centre

It took the joint effort of military and police personnel to prevent a near-scuffle after some residents of Ablekuma North accused NPP party agents of trying to alter the numbers on the result declaration forms from some polling centres.

They also alleged that persons suspected to be affiliated with the governing party tried to sneak ballot boxes into the collation centre around 1:45 am.

Akufo-Addo is in incontestable lead – NPP

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) says its independent collation of the election projects a 52.87% win for President Nana Akufo-Addo while the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama is trailing behind with 49.3% of the national votes.

At an earlier press conference, the NDC's Director of Elections, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, insisted that its independent collation of results show that the stakes are high for the party’s flagbearer and parliamentary candidates.

We’ve won 36 seats held by NPP; Storm collation centres to protect the victory – NDC charge supporters

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has charged its executives and supporters to move to the collation centres across the country to ensure that they consolidate the party’s “victory”, as the Electoral Commission continues to count the ballots in Monday’s polls.

According to the NDC, it has won 36 seats occupied by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Parliament and is, therefore, confident of victory although it cautioned its members against premature celebration until the final results are declared.
