Ephesians 2:10 (Amp) Just in case you don't have an Amplified Bible, Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].”

From the above passage, there are 3 important truths we will consider and they are as follows:

1. There is a good life that God has already prepared for every Born Again Christian.

2. There are prepared paths that each one of us ought to walk in, and

3. There are preordained and predestined good works for us to do.

If a child of God takes the predestined paths and does the predestined good works, he will definitely experience the predestined good life. But if the same Christian tries to do the predestined good works without taking the predestined paths that God has mapped out for him or her, then the prearranged good life becomes elusive. And it is at such times when Christians take paths that God has not mapped out for them that their paths become assaulted by the destroyer and then the outcome of that life does not tally with the picture of the good life that Jesus promised us.

Psalms 17:4 reveals that the destroyer himself has a prescribed path that he can walk. The devil cannot do just anything because he lives on the earth. He can attack and operate in the lives of people living under his control but not in the life of a child of God walking in his predestined paths.

Prayer: Father, help me to keep within the boundaries of the paths that you have predestined me to walk in Jesus name, amen.
