Rev. Olusola Areogun Acts 13:36; Phil. 3:12-14
Many Christians have been misled to think that they were saved in order to make it to heaven but in the heart of God, He did not send His only begotten son to die just for you to make heaven primarily. No, not so. Heaven is your reward and not your target. God saved you by grace for a particular reason. God was not confused when He saved you and you should not be confused over the reason why you have been saved.

Your divine destiny is the primary purpose of your redemption; if all you are doing is to make heaven you will be wasting the essence of redemption. The essence of redemption is to bring back to God all the potentials that He put in you to fulfill your destiny.

The Bible says in Acts 13:26 “For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was laid with his fathers…” your spiritual experience will only be meagre and inconsequential if you do not understand the fact that God saved you for a definite purpose: your divine destiny. Paul had the understanding that he was meant to achieve the high calling of God upon his life, what about you?

Anyone that lives his whole live in sin and in defiance to God can eventually make heaven if he repents on his deathbed but that would have brought no advancement to the purpose of God on the earth but if you live your life doing the needful – fulfilling divine destiny – you would have already done enough to make it to heaven with a grand welcome. The only reason you did not die on the day you gave your life to Christ was because of the responsibility to discover your God given destiny and fulfill it.

Prayer: Lord, help me take the fulfillment of my divine destiny serious. Deliver me from the lazy expectation of making heaven at the expense of fulfilling the divine purpose of my creation in Jesus name. Amen.
