D & P Holdings proudly presents the first ever entertainment fashion and celebrity walk for the eradication of Trachoma at a fashion show extravaganza dubbed “DAVIVA GHANA COLLECTIONS 2009” under the theme “Changing the face of fashion”.

The show has two main purposes: to launch “THE SEW PROJECT”, a TV reality series for the most promising young Fashion Designer and also to raise funds to save over five thousand trachoma victims going blind in the northern parts of Ghana.

The Event will award the best 9-12 designers out of 20 competitors and house them for “THE SEW PROJECT” reality TV series.

The launch of D & P Holdings' “DAVIVA GHANA COLLECTIONS “will be held on October 9th at the UNIVERSAL MOTORS show room. This pioneering trade event for the regional fashion industry will feature Ready to ware 2009 collections of participating designers infused with live music performances by a well known Ghanaian artist.

Up to 50 top /super models from various countries will parade the catwalk in the stylish designs by the competitors and A Celebrity Walk for trachoma (find info on this disease below) will follow with a music performance and announcement of final 12 for The Sew Project TV reality series.

Ten celebrities have been selected to take a walk for the eradication of this destructive disease. They are: Kwami Sefa Kayi(Broadcaster), Jackie Appiah (Actress), Mawuena Dumor (MTN), Kofi Adjorlolo (Actor), Joyce Aryee (Marketing Woman of the Year), Anthony Baffoe(Sports) Jessica (Citi Fm), Akosua Agyepong(Musician),Kwebena Kwebena(Musician) and Amy Newman(Musician)

The celebrities will take the charity walk in the elegant designs of top Fashion Designers like Kofi Ansah, Mawuli Okudjeto, Kwesi Nti, Joyce Ababio, Royal fashions and others of their kind. There will also be ready to wear designs for auction.

This edition of “ DAVIVA GHANA COLLECTIONS” will see promising and talented tailors/seamstresses featuring stylish and classy clothing inspired by the rich traditions of Africa, known as Africhic and presenting their collections to an audience of local and International consumers and the media.
With major supporters such as Universal Motors (VW), Gandour Cosmetics, Citi 97.3FM, Metro TV, Home Style Food Services (Champion Rice).
