The greatest movies our children will ever watch will be our own lives; the lives that we live right in front of them. The greatest legacy you can give them is programming revelation into their spirit.

We are getting to realize these days that the disadvantages of TV can far outweigh the advantages if we are not careful about what our children watch on TV. Every parent has been called by God to be a mentor to the children; whether they are our own biological children or other children. We are mentors. The life that we live before them really matters.

We cannot put the children in front of the car and break traffic rules for instance, and expect that we will raise responsible citizens in our country tomorrow. We cannot be spending money that we have not earned legitimately, even if we are spending them for sound reasons like paying their school fees; and expect that anything righteous or reasonable will come out of the children.

What young people are doing today is bizarre but we must note that the presence of area boys today is proof that there are area fathers. You don't reproduce what you want. You reproduce what you are.

There are countries like Nigeria where merit is not celebrated. Only connection is celebrated. This is a country that has lost the definition of success. But the church exists for that purpose-the purpose of introducing a new system. For our own children, we must tell them that it is better to fail an examination and write it again than to cheat in the examination. If you cheat and pass, you are still a failure. That is the standard in God's house. A poor man is better than a liar. We have the responsibility before our children not to gossip in the house; not to backbite; not to disrespect the government or leaders even in the church; not to run down people simply because they wronged us or hurt us. The children will grow up believing that people are generally bad. Live the word of God right before your children. This will equally help you to have peace in your marriage.
