BUT.........
I. SON OF MAN, my son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments and live, and my law as the apple of thine eye. Beloved, how do you deal with “BUT” issues in your life? Today, let us confront the “BUT” in our lives. Scripture teaches us that “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive.” How do you deal with situations where trusted friends, family members, spouses, and others have planned evil against you? Did you allow God to turn their evil plot into “BUT God meant it for good? Joseph came face to face with his enemies – his own brothers who hated him because of his dreams, plotted against him, and planned to kill him initially – and sold him to strangers. Through all that, he ended up in prison. What would you have done looking at these people right in front of you helpless? Will you use your authority and power to pay them back? And Joseph said unto them, Fear not, for am I in the place of God? Beloved, trust God; they meant it for evil. BUT God turns it for your good.
II. DAUGHTER OF ZION now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them. Beloved, let us use the Joseph kind of divine methodology. Joseph saw the hand of God in everything concerning him; even when the odds were physically against him, he still trusted in the living God. When you are confronted with the “BUT” kind of situation, look out for the hand of God and trust in God’s ability to turn things around for your good. Remember also that "BUT for the grace of God, we would all be lost. BUT God delivered mankind, and through His mercy, we are saved." You were not qualified for the job and position you occupy now, BUT somehow, someway, you got the job. You were struggling at the labour ward; doctors and medical officers almost gave up on you, BUT something happened, and you gave birth soundly, and you are well. Brother, what is your BUT? Sister, what is your BUT? Your BUT must turn the situation around for the positive path. BUT if you are on the negative path too, I pray that you get to that destination called BUT for things to turn around again for you. Face your BUT and move along.
III. MY BELOVED SISTER, beloved, our very existence, our every breath, and our every step are but a testament to the boundless grace of God. The Apostle Paul reminds us that, moreover, the law entered that the offence might abound. BUT where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: Just as sin has reigned to death, grace can reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Imagine, if you will, a world without God's grace. A world where every mistake, every misstep, and every sin would lead to irreparable ruin. A world where forgiveness is a luxury, and mercy is a myth. That, my friends, would be our reality BUT for the grace of God. BUT, hallelujah! God delivered mankind from the brink of destruction. He intervened, He redeemed, and He restored us to a place of favour and blessing.
IV. MY DEAR BROTHER, the Psalmist declares, "The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love." Let us draw a parallel between the mishaps of life and the grace of God. When we stumble, God's grace lifts us up. When we sin, His grace forgives us. When we face adversity, His grace sustains us. The Bible says, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." In the physical realm, we see the effects of sin and disobedience, but in the spiritual realm, we see the boundless love and mercy of God. Just as a vaccine protects us from disease, God's grace protects us from the consequences of our own failures. This is a DIVINE NEW DOWN MESSAGE sent forth through the authority of Christ Jesus and served to the brethren through God's Vessel Francis Ameyibor, Yes! BUT, dear friends, this is not just a theological concept; it's a living reality. Every time we face a challenge, we must remind ourselves, "BUT for the grace of God, I would be..."
V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP – So, let us cultivate a heart of gratitude, a spirit of humility, and a deep reverence for the God who saves us.
PRAYER: May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. May you be blessed with the courage to believe, the faith to act, and the power to overcome in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.
