Strengthen the Brethren

I. Daughter of Zion, grace be unto you. In this world, there shall be tribulations, challenges, unfulfilled dreams, disappointments, and many more godly and ungodly things competing with us. Sometimes these loads of the world become so heavy to break us down. Beloved, we are encouraged to pray for one another and strengthen our fellow brethren in the faith. We need the prayer support of each other. Jesus revealed the devil's evil intentions against Peter, but the Lord assured Peter "I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers." In the face of temptations and difficulties, it is important to hold in faith. This verse highlights the importance of intercessory prayer and spiritual leadership in the body of Christ.

II. Son of Man, intercessory prayer is a powerful tool that allows us to stand in the gap for others, praying for their spiritual growth, protection, and empowerment. When we pray for one another, we demonstrate our love and care, become partakers of God’s work, and experience spiritual growth. Brethren, we must have people who are daily on our prayer list. We must stand in the gap for those going through difficulties, those in leadership, our family, our minister of the Gospel, and this world. Intercessory prayer shows that we value and care for our fellow believers, taking their spiritual well-being seriously. Through intercessory prayer, we partner with God in His work of transforming lives and building His kingdom. As we pray for others, we also experience spiritual growth, developing our faith, humility, and compassion.

III. My Beloved Sisters and Dear Brothers In addition to praying for one another, Jesus Christ also commissions Peter to strengthen his fellow brethren. Those standing must strengthen the weak brethren. Those who have gone through battles and come back must share their experiences with those preparing to enter the battlefield. Those who are standing must help those down to get up on their feet. We are mandated to encourage and support each other, equip and empower each other, and mentor young ones. We can strengthen our fellow believers by offering words of encouragement, providing emotional support, and helping them in practical ways. We can also strengthen our fellow believers by equipping them with biblical knowledge, spiritual gifts, and practical skills, empowering them to fulfil their calling and ministry.

IV. Precious in the Lord, as spiritual leaders, we can strengthen our fellow believers by modelling Christ-like behaviour, mentoring them in their faith journey, and providing guidance and accountability. Let us establish a regular prayer routine, praying for your fellow believers, their needs, and their spiritual growth. Build meaningful relationships with our fellow believers, taking time to encourage, support, and equip them. Beloved, let us remember that Jesus Christ's words to Peter emphasize the importance of intercessory prayer and spiritual leadership in strengthening our fellow brethren. May we prioritize praying for one another, encouraging and supporting each other. As we do, may we see the body of Christ strengthened, empowered, and equipped to fulfil its divine purpose. This is the DIVINE WORD to strengthen the brethren sent forth through the Authority of Christ Jesus and served through God's Vessel Francis Ameyibor. Yes! Will you commit to praying for your fellow believers, strengthening them through encouragement, support, and empowerment?

PRAYER: Lord, forgive us for taking your glory. Lord, forgive us for failing to recognize your divine hand in our daily lives. Lord, we pray for your divine guidance, acknowledging your sovereignty; through Christ Jesus' name we pray, amen.
