I. PRECIOUS IN THE LORD, grace, and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Today, let us reflect on the biblical truth that the apostle Paul humbly revealed, acknowledging it was by the grace of God “I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect.” Paul, an accomplished minister of the Gospel, did not claim things for himself. He is what he is by the grace of God. He asserted “No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me." The truth is that it is not through our will or power. Our accomplishment of great things is not through our efforts only, but rather the hand of God working in and through us. God blesses our hard work and makes it fruitful. Paul did not say because of the anointing of God over him, he would sit idly for manna to drop from heaven, but he worked hard both in ministry and out of ministry. He was a zealous worker. Paul is an example of a hard worker.
II. SON OF MAN, despite his hard work and accomplishment, Paul recognizes the divine power of God, which enabled him to accomplish all things. Beloved, as humans, we often underestimate our limitations and overestimate our abilities. We may try to take credit for our accomplishments, forgetting that our talents, skills, and opportunities all come from God. Yes, you have indeed been to the best schools, you got a good job, and you are an accomplished politician, banker, teacher, farmer, medical officer, communicator, etc., but that’s not all. When a seed is planted, there are mysteries of nature that go on for it to germinate and grow to bear fruit, and so are we. There are mysteries of divinity that control our lives. Therefore, when we acknowledge our limitations and depend on God's power, we open ourselves up to His divine providence. There are strange things in the spiritual and physical realms daily that can change our fortunes within seconds.
III. DAUGHTER OF ZION, the Bible reminds us that God is sovereign over all things. Scripture reveals that God is the only one who declares the end from the beginning and that from ancient times things that are not yet done. In all things it is God’s counsel which shall stand. It also shows that God does things according to his pleasure. God's sovereignty is not limited to the grand, cosmic scale; it also extends to the intricate details of our individual lives. When we recognize the hand of God in our lives, we begin to see that our accomplishments are not solely the result of our own efforts. Rather, they are the outcome of God's gracious provision and guidance. Beloved, let us daily count our blessings, and we will understand the psalmist. The unseen and seen accidents that the Lord delivered us from daily. The miraculous breakthroughs. The protection from demonic attacks. Let us thank God for closing our eyes to many things around us.
IV. MY BELOVED SISTER AND DEAR BROTHER, recognizing God's hand in our lives fosters humility, as we acknowledge that our abilities and achievements come from Him. When we understand that God is working in and through us, we can trust that His plans are good, even when we don't fully understand them. Acknowledging the hand of God in our lives encourages us to live in dependence on Him, seeking His guidance and strength in all we do. Before making decisions or taking action, pray for God's guidance and wisdom. Let us regularly reflect on God's sovereignty over our lives, acknowledging that His plans are good, even when we don't fully understand them. And let us give God the glory, recognizing that it is His hand that has accomplished everything in our lives. This is the DIVINE WORD to strengthen the brethren sent forth through the Authority of Christ Jesus and served through God's Vessel Francis Ameyibor. Yes! It is not our will or power that accomplishes great things, but rather the hand of God working in and through us.
V. 2025 MY YEAR FOR MY STAR TO RISE FOR THE WORLD TO NOTICE—may we cultivate humility, trust in divine providence, and live in dependence on God, acknowledging His sovereignty over our lives.
PRAYER: Lord, forgive us for taking your glory. Lord, forgive us for failing to recognize your divine hand in our daily lives. Lord, we pray for your divine guidance, acknowledging your sovereignty; through Christ Jesus' name we pray, amen.
