I Do Remember My Faults This Day

Religion & Spirituality I Do Remember My Faults This Day
TUE, 21 JAN 2025

I. MY BELOVED SISTERS AND DEAR BROTHERS, grace and peace be multiplied to you and your household. Is there something you have forgotten? Is there an action you are supposed to undertake that you have forgotten? Is there an act you are ignoring? The chief butler told Pharaoh, Today, I do remember my faults. These words, spoken over 3,000 years ago, hold great significance for us as believers and non-believers in today’s world. As human beings, we easily forget when things change for the better in our lives. We sometimes ignore people who push us to the top. Some have neglected their parents because of an act of omission or commission on the part of the parents, forgetting that through them God ushered them into this world. Some even failed to acknowledge their house help, drivers, and domestic staff simply because they were working for their pay. Do you know that your life is in the hands of others?

II. SON OF MAN, the chief butler woke up suddenly from his self-imposed sleep and told Pharaoh, Today I have remembered my fault. This statement from the scriptures invites us to examine our own lives, acknowledge our shortcomings, and seek redemption. The chief butler's statement comes after he is restored to his position, having been imprisoned for allegedly offending Pharaoh. While in prison, he meets Joseph, who interprets his dream and predicts his release. Joseph had told him that when all that he has told comes to pass, he should not forget him. Joseph asked the chief butler to mention to Pharaoh his predicament, as he was wrongly cast into prison for an offense he did not commit. Upon his return to Pharaoh's court, the butler forgot about Joseph and was enjoying his new freedom. May your newfound freedom not force you to forget those who have helped you. May your wealth not put you into self-imposed forgetfulness.

III. MY BELOVED SISTERS, wake up and remember your faults today before it becomes too late for you. The chief butler's words serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of self-reflection and accountability. This process of self-reflection allows us to recognize our faults, seek forgiveness, and learn from our mistakes. Sometimes, we might not be at fault; the other person might be at fault, but as believers, we must reach out and forgive those who have offended us. Like the chief butler, we must acknowledge our mistakes and take responsibility for them. Through prayer and repentance, we can seek forgiveness from God and those we have wronged or those who have wronged us. Self-reflection enables us to identify areas for growth and develop strategies for improvement. Remember your faults; someone is serving a jail term because of you. Remember your faults; someone’s marriage is on the verge of breakdown because of you. Remember your faults, for someone has not been promoted for years because of you.

IV. MY DEAR BROTHER, the chief butler's story demonstrates the power of redemption and restoration. Despite his past faults, he is given a second chance, and his life is forever changed. Remember your faults and go back to your parents for restoration before it becomes too late and they pass away. As believers, we too can experience redemption through Jesus Christ, who paid the ultimate price for our sins. As we reflect on the chief butler's words, "I do remember my faults this day," may we be inspired to examine our own lives, acknowledge our shortcomings, and seek redemption. This is a DIVINE WARNING sent forth through the Authority and Power of Christ Jesus and served to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor. Yes! May we remember that our faults do not define us but rather serve as opportunities for growth, forgiveness, and restoration.

V. 2025 MY YEAR FOR MY STAR TO RISE FOR THE WORLD TO NOTICE—Now there was a young Hebrew man with us there, a servant of the captain of the guard. And we told him, and he interpreted our dreams for us; to each man, he interpreted according to his dream.

PRAYER: Gracious Lord, we come before you, acknowledging our faults and shortcomings. We ask for your forgiveness and guidance as we seek to grow and improve. May your redeeming power transform our lives, and may we emerge stronger, wiser, and more faithful. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
