Let us stand in the gap for our families

Let us stand in the gap for our families

I. Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, peace be unto you and your household. As we progress through the days of this month and this year, it’s our role as men and women, husbands and wives, within the context of our families and homes to stand in the gap. Standing in the gap applies to our lives as prayer warriors and royal priests. God laments the lack of individuals who will "stand in the gap" on behalf of the land, to make up the hedge, and to stand before Him for the land. The importance of intercession and the need for individuals to take up the mantle of prayer and spiritual warfare. Sisters in Christ, as women and wives, you have a unique and vital role to play in standing in the gap for your families and homes. When women and wives stand in the gap for their families, there will be unity and peace at home.

II. Beloved sisters you are called to be prayer warriors, interceding on behalf of your loved ones and seeking God's guidance, protection, and blessings. As you pray, you create a spiritual atmosphere that fosters peace, harmony, and unity within your home. As men and husbands, you have been called to wear the mantle of the royal priesthood. You are to lead your families and homes to God, providing spiritual guidance, protection, and provision. As a priest, you are responsible for leading family worship and prayer. Men and husbands are expected to provide spiritual guidance and counsel to the household. As a husband, you are to protect your family from spiritual harm, and bless, and dedicate your family to God. What is your role? Are you daily leading your family to the altar? Are you playing your priesthood role in your home?

III. Son of man, when husbands and wives, men and women, come together to fulfil their respective roles, the power of united intercession and priesthood is unleashed. God has created the home as the starting point of the church. The training of the children in the Lord starts from the home. God has created this synergy as a formidable force that brings peace and harmony to the home, protects the family from spiritual attacks, fosters a culture of love, respect, and unity, and empowers the family to fulfil their divine purpose. Paul acknowledged that from childhood Timothy had known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus. Timothy, through the grandmother, has been taught at home the scriptures. Not only do we as parents have a responsibility to serve as prayer warriors and priests of our homes, but we are to train them in the scriptures, which will guide them when they are of age.

IV. Daughters of Zion, as we stand in the gap for our families and homes, let us remember that our roles are not mutually exclusive but complementary. As women and wives, you are called to be prayer warriors, while as men and husbands, you are called to be royal priests. Together, let us unite in prayer and intercession, and let us don our respective mantles, so that our homes and families may be blessed, protected, and empowered to fulfil their divine purpose. I charge you, therefore, before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, and exhort with all longsuffering and teaching. This is a DIVINE WARNING sent forth through the Authority and Power of Christ Jesus and served to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor. Yes! In the Bible, God charges parents with the responsibility of raising their children in the fear of the Lord.

V. 2025 MY YEAR FOR MY STAR TO RISE FOR THE WORLD TO NOTICE — The Bible also says that parents will be held accountable for how they prepare their children for service in the Kingdom of God.

PRAYER: Gracious Lord, today we come before you, acknowledging our roles as prayer warriors and royal priests. We pray for the empowerment to fulfil our respective callings, that our homes and families may be blessed, protected, and guided by Your Holy Spirit. May we stand in the gap for one another, and may our united intercession and priesthood bring peace, harmony, and unity to our homes and families. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
