Celebrating the Women in Your Life 2022

Today, May 8th, Mother’s day is celebrated in many parts of the world. Happy Mother’s day to all women. 🎈🎈🎈Even for those who have not borne a child themselves? YES and YES. Motherhood comes in many forms: Biological, Foster, Adoptive, or blended ( spouse bring their own children into the second marriage and they all live together), Stepmother, grandmothers and Aunts acting as replacement mothers, and Spiritual mothers. There is a proverb which says “it takes a village to raise a child” meaning there is collective effort to help the child grow up to become a responsible adult. I should not forget other women like teachers, daycare workers, child care workers, children’s church workers, and health care workers who look after children. They all act as mother figures in nurturing children. May the Lord Bless them abundantly. We should celebrate all these women who are described in Proverbs 31:28 “her children rise up and call her blessed”. If you are reading this and someone has been a “mother” to you, you should not forget to call her on the phone, send her a text and perhaps a little gift recognizing her.

For the “Mothers”, I hope and pray that if you have played any important role in nurturing some child(ren) you will know that God your creator is the God who “sees” Jehovah Roi, who has seen your “ work of faith, labor of love and patience of hope” (1Thess 1:3) and will reward you abundantly, now and in the World to Come. However, your work is not finished yet. You may have adult children who are living their own lives and do not care about the things you instilled in them as children. They may even have turned against you, abandoned you or they may be in some bondage. I want to encourage you not to give up on them, but continue to be the one in their corner, forgiving them, carrying no offence and praying for them to return to the “fold”, where like the prodigal son they will be welcomed home. Finally, “let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Gal 6:9). God Bless You

Happy Mother’s Day 🌹🌹🌹
