When Love Wins

It's funny how every scar has a story to tell. Some scars heal quicker than others, while some not so much, so you have to live with the memories. Scars remind us of the things that hurt us. Some scars scar us for life while others heal completely with no trace. And that's how the past few weeks have been. It's been one scar after another that doesn't seem to heal so quickly, but hopefully, in time, it will.

When I was 15, my girlfriend at that time broke up with me because her older sister told her to. It hurt really bad and I stopped talking to her completely for a while. Later on, we got back together and fell in love all over again, but I never truly trusted her with my heart after then. I was scared and wasn't healing. Truth is, I was scared of being vulnerable with her and that was the tipping point in our final breakup.

If loving someone scars you more than it heals you, then there's something wrong.

You need to heal first. Take your time to heal and process past hurts. You deserve to be loved wholeheartedly and the person you choose to love deserves your unconditional love. You can't give what you don't have. So take your time to heal, because in the end, love always wins.
