Riohs Originate Sets The Pace As First Ghanaian Fashion School To Start Online Fashion Design & Illustration Education 

The new normal is pushing businesses to find innovative ways of going about their daily operational activities with extra care and caution not to trigger COVID. Many institutions have resorted to finding ways of operating with less human and physical interactions.

Internet use and software integration within this period have become the new normal for any serious corporate business aimed at supporting the Government’s efforts at halting the pandemic and assuring the safety of all.

In the case of the fashion training sphere, the reality of online lessons substituting for physical is increasingly becoming a reality. Due to this, Ghana’s Best Fashion School, Riohs Originate has set the pace as the first Ghanaian Fashion School to start an online class with a rollout of full fledge fashion design and illustration education in 2021.

The initiative had its pilot during the initial phase of the pandemic with the 2020 batch who started the course in February 2020. The students experienced seventy-five percent (75%) of online class and twenty-five percent (25%) of physical class.

The institution announced the rollout of the full online class at the just ended 8th edition of Joie De Vivre which took place at Alliance Francaise in Accra. Joie De Vivre is a show that provided students the platform to exhibit their creativity and confidence on a runway. The focus is more on enabling the skills of the students with the show.

Management of Riohs Originate has indicated that new students wishing to learn Fashion Design and Illustration in 2021 should expect one-hundred percent (100%) online education as an option. The novel initiative by the institution will give equal value to students that will go in for online education, having the opportunity to go through the RIOHS Experience in the comfort of their homes/workplaces/anywhere in the world.

Riohs Originate’s education in 2021 is likely to be remembered in Ghana as a critical turning point between the “time before,” when on-campus fashion design and illustration-focused learning was the default, to the “time after,” when digital, online-focused learning becomes the fulcrum of the academic community in the country.
