This is one of the age-old nutritional concerns that most people still have. But is it scientific?

NO! This is a misconception.
Gastric hydrochloric acid, HCl, helps with protein digestion and most importantly, kills microbes that may be found in food.

This acid is that important — perhaps the reason this earlier unscientific concern was raised and has been propagated till this day. Extensive scientific study has adequately debunked and in fact, rubbished this claim.

The practice of drinking water while eating is only a nutritional concern in underweights and other patients with increased calorie needs.

It could make you full in no time without actually eating enough. Period!

Next time someone, whoever — a doctor, nurse or their fake — preaches this misconception to you, ask them if they would choose to suffer at the point of near-asphyxiation upon ingesting that big morsel or bone, or get relief from drinking water. Science is common sense too.
