More often than not people have entrepreneurial ambitions embeded in them or have ideas they would want to transform into business but the fear of failure means they never fufil this ambition.

However, others have conquered the fear of failure and started businesses that have turned their lives around.

Afiyoo Larko Kofi was a personal assistant and warehouse manager for a company for 15 years. She one day decided to quit and do something else with her life.

Months raced past and with no concrete plan in sight, she spent almost all her savings and her partener broke up with her.

At a point she even contemplated suicide but she snapped out of that thoughts when she thought of her child.

"Then one day I woke up hungry and with no money and I called a friend who told me about a catering job in Tema and had no choice," he said in an interview.

"Although my former boss asked that I come back anytime I wanted, I didn't want to because I knew how the other workers were going to laugh at me," he added.

Four months into the new job, with delayed payments and poor working conditions, she resigned and was back to zero.

"With no job and no money, I could go a whole day without food but I will put on a strong face and make it look like all was well but I will stay in my room and cry," she recalled.

Her major break through came when one morning in 2014yh she cooked and posted the food on Facebook. A few minutes afterwards, she started receiving messages from people who wanted to order food from her.

"After I started getting notifications asking if they could buy some food, I quickly lied that the food was finished and so they should book for tomorrow. I got 7 people confirming their orders and here I was with no clue as to how to cook and deliver"

She gradually introduced Jollof and other dishes to her menu and her catering business was booming.s

This birthed her catering company, Kitchen Pot Catering services

"As I wake up everyday to cook I realized I love it and so she developed passion for catering

She had this advice for prospective entrepreneurs: Nothing is easy but I believe ones you have the passion and the vision you will achieve your goals.Be honest dealing with your suppliers."

"Treat your workers respect but most of all be a listener. Customers should always come first and go back to ask for feedback on services rendered," she added.
