Our volunteers are always happy to leave back home with enormous experiences and a new cultural perspective.
History
It is generally accepted that women and children are more vulnerable than men if there is violence. This indication shows that we have not dealt fairly well with the girl child leading to poor state and marginalized status of women in our society. Their vulnerability to a number of adverse social conditions has been due to their not well informed. Statistically women out-numbered men in our society. If this country should make headway in its quest to become a middle income country soon, then we cannot afford to leave our women and children behind. The quality of life and condition of women to socio-economic transformation of good health, peace and security will therefore be determine by the quality her education.
The organization was set up to build more awareness and mobilize for action on the rights of children, women and young people. Listen to them and encourage their participation because they are resource citizens capable of helping to build a better future for all.
.
Millennium Child Support Group started in 2002 as a small Community-based organization in Winneba in the Central region of the republic of Ghana. The focus was on child development. The funds were directed towards school-age children out of school in the rural community, urban slums and poor households by subsidizing for food, clothing and encouraging school dropout pupil to return to classroom by providing them with their school needs such as uniforms, sandals, materials etc. The organization also support and helped many people in the rural communities and poor households to register with National Health Insurance Scheme to receive proper health care.

In early 2006, the organization was officially launched and shifted its priorities from mere child aid program in the small communities to a large group of poor communities to eliminate child poverty, empowering women, and participation of young people to achieve national development.

The organization has developed strategic inputs to contribute to nation-wide program on how to reduce poverty. Our work now is focus on long-term poverty alleviation on children, women and young people practically.

The organization further realized that, close to 20% of our globalized world population are illiterates. Millennium Child Support Group was founded to help eradicate this staggering statistic through the promotion of literacy and education, and the provision of learning resources and teaching materials.

We strongly believe that education is a fundamental human right, and that all individuals should be afforded the same opportunities for their future which includes access to basic education.

Since its inception in 2006, Millennium Child Support Group has steadily grown to align with the needs of a continually evolving education sector. We have partner with other leading educational organizations, and have built long-lasting relationships with communities around Africa.

Millennium Child Support Group significantly dedicates their time and resources to conducting research and uses resulting information to help advocate in local communities as well as on a global scale. We mobilize communities through our passionate volunteers, and seek to give individuals a voice so that they can also act as advocates for literacy within their own communities. We believe that raising community awareness is vital to the improvement of literacy standards. The Organization is guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child and strives to establish children's rights as enduring ethical principles and international standards of behaviour towards children.

Millennium Child Support Group works with the Governments, communities, local authorities and non-governmental organizations, including faith-based and community-based organizations to ensure that children grow up in a family environment.
