Exopa holds final audition

One of the models Exopa Modeling Agency will this week end auditions to pick average models for its big event in July which will be hosting a lot of international models and designers including Hollywood superstar, Boris Kodjoe.

Last week, the agency auditioned over 200 new models, out of which 80 average models were selected for a second audition. On Friday, the 80 joined 40 other top models who were part of the previous Exopa fashion event, summing up to 120 models.

After Friday's audition, the figure was further streamlined to 80, even though the modeling agency wanted only 60 models for the big event.

Yesterday at a very tight and more competitive audition at the premises of the Exopa Burge Modeling School where models showed a lot of exuberance and determination to be part of the international fashion week, the modeling agency commenced final audition to get the best 60 finalists.

“For the next two weeks, we will be holding serious rehearses, out which we will select the best 60 with requisite skills to be on the runway,”  Sima Ibrahim, CEO of Exopa, told BEATWAVES yesterday.

According to him, the best 60 models would be joined by other models from Africa and the Western world. “We are expecting not more than 50 models from outside. 15 models from Togo, 10 from Ivory Coast, and the rest from countries like Germany and Venezuela, among others,” he said.

This year, Exopa is not placing much emphasis on the sizes of model as was the case some years back. It is rather looking at models' attitude and their confidence level.

The Exopa Fashion Weekend is expected to be bigger this year. Under the theme “Harnessing Creative Talents Within Africa,” the event is aimed at providing jobs for Ghanaian youth as well as unearthing talents, boosting interest, showcasing opportunities and making the Ghanaian Fashion Industry a sustainable one.

It would be full of activities from modeling, fashion exhibitions and musical shows to soccer. The event would parade not less 30 top designers with 10 from the international scene.
