Ghanaian female musician Wendy Shay has addressed criticism surrounding her body shape, specifically comments about her figure being a result of a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure.
In her response, Wendy Shay emphasized that her body shape is 100% natural, attributing any misconceptions to bullying and a lack of understanding.
Wendy Shay questioned if African women cannot naturally have curvy figures like hers, asking,
"Before BBL, Africans didn’t have a natural shape like mine?" She also expressed frustration over the constant scrutiny, stating, "Y’all should get a life and stop being naive."
The musician noted that people will always have opinions about others' bodies, saying, "Clearly humans will always have something to say...it's either your booty is too big or too small or too fake." Wendy Shay advised her critics to "mind their business" and ended her message with a call to action, "Africa Wake Up!"
