Former Big Brother Naija reality star and actor Elozonam Ogbolu has shared his thoughts on toxic masculinity and the misconceptions surrounding traditional masculine roles.
In a recent episode of the 'In The Company Of Men' podcast, hosted by Ikhane Akhigbe, Elozonam emphasized the importance of flexibility and care in relationships.
"Oral sex doesn't make you less of a man," Elozonam stated, addressing the stigma surrounding intimate acts between couples. "Serving a woman, doing things for a woman, going to buy groceries... these things don't constitute you being a man or not."
He encouraged men to rethink their perspectives and be more open to supporting their partners.
Elozonam also highlighted that toxic masculinity can be perpetuated by women who fantasize about or tolerate toxic relationships.
"Toxic masculinity is still fueled by the opposite gender," he said. "Some women can't be with you if you're not toxic... it's what they use to measure how much you love or care about them."
He cited examples of social media posts that normalize toxic behavior, such as "The man doesn't love you if he doesn't beat you."
Elozonam challenged these harmful attitudes, promoting a more caring and flexible approach to relationships.
