Ghanaian YouTuber Kwadwo Sheldon was taken by surprise when former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia personally reached out to check on him following the severe flooding that affected parts of the country, including Sheldon’s home, on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
In a video shared on his Facebook page, Dr. Bawumia expressed concern over the incident, saying he called to check up after hearing about the flooding.
The call came at a time when Sheldon was in the news for rejecting an offer of assistance from dancehall artist Shatta Wale. The two have had a rocky public history, characterized by online clashes and mutual criticism. Sheldon referenced a 2024 encounter in the UK, where he claims Shatta Wale snubbed him during an attempt to make peace—an experience that, according to Sheldon, shaped his response.
Sheldon declined the dancehall star’s gesture, citing the earlier snub and referencing a past controversy involving Shatta Wale's mother, Elsie, who had publicly cried out for support, claiming her son had neglected her. Emphasizing his self-reliance, Sheldon stated, "We're not kids here, and no one feeds anyone here. I reached out, you ignored me. Now you reach out, I say GTFOH."
Shatta Wale fired back, reportedly displeased with Sheldon's blunt response and critical remarks.
In contrast, Dr. Bawumia’s outreach has been widely viewed as a thoughtful and sincere act. Sheldon welcomed the call, describing it as a genuine show of concern in the aftermath of the floods.

The immaturity of barwumia is so surprising. Though calling sheldon to commiserate with is not bad, but calling him puts you in a position where you need to call all npp members you know who have the same problem. Everything he does is unreal, exposing his dishonesty.
