'I should have won Rap Performance of the Year at TGMA25' — Lyrical Joe

Ghanaian hip-hop rapper and songwriter Joseph Gamor, popularly known as Lyrical Joe, has expressed disappointment over not winning the Rap Performance of the Year award at the 25th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA25), despite his nomination with the track "5th August."

Lyrical Joe said he was optimistic about winning, noting that his song aligned perfectly with the category’s definition. He emphasized that he consistently produces high-quality rap music that respects the genre’s rhythm, patterns, and lyrical depth.

According to him, "5th August" was a deserving entry due to the intense effort and creativity poured into both the track and its accompanying visuals.

The rapper maintained that as long as the criteria for the category remain the same, he should always be considered a strong contender whenever nominated. His disappointment, he explained, stems from his unwavering confidence in the strength of his craft and the quality of his submission.
