Afrobeats musician Orezi has opened up about the reasons behind his decline in the music industry.

The "Ogede" hitmaker explained that a drop in ambition contributed significantly to the slowdown in his career.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Hip TV show Trending, Orezi admitted that stepping away from the competitive nature of the music industry affected his momentum and visibility.

He emphasized the importance of consistency, pointing out that even top-tier artists like Davido continue to work tirelessly, approaching their craft with the same drive as up-and-coming musicians.

He said, “I faded out [of the music industry] because I became less ambitious and comfortable with where I am. I was always on vacation, enjoying myself. I became less ambitious and took myself out of the competition [in the music industry].

“Competition fuels consistency. Look at Davido for example, he hustles like an underground artist. He has money and fame but he still maintains his hustling spirit.”
