Renowned highlife artiste Kwabena Kwabena is stepping into student politics with ambitions to become the next Student Representative Council (SRC) President at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, the celebrated musician is leveraging his platform to connect with young people and champion student-centered change.
Bringing a wealth of real-world experience into campus leadership, Kwabena is part of a growing trend of Ghanaian entertainers embracing academic life and public service. His journey began at St. Peter's Secondary School, followed by a Higher National Diploma (HND) from Accra Polytechnic, laying a solid foundation for his academic pursuits at UPSA.
He joins the ranks of other musicians-turned-student-leaders such as Samini, who served as SRC President at GIMPA; Guru, currently holding the post at the University of Ghana; and Dr. Cryme, recently elected at Methodist University.
This rising movement among creative artists marks an exciting fusion of entertainment, education, and civic engagement—one that may inspire a new generation of youth leaders to balance talent with responsibility.
