Ghanaian socialite and former confidante of dancehall musician Stonebwoy, Ayisha Modi, has claimed that the gun the artiste pulled at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was a toy.
The incident in question occurred after Stonebwoy was announced as the Dancehall Artiste of the Year at the 2019 VGMAs.
Shatta Wale and members of his entourage stormed the stage while Stonebwoy was receiving his award, sparking a scuffle between the two camps.
Stonebwoy was seen brandishing a gun during the altercation.
Both artistes were subsequently banned from the awards scheme by organisers, Charterhouse, and the highly anticipated Artiste of the Year category was left unannounced due to the chaos.
“During the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, the gun Stonebwoy pulled was a toy gun,” Ayisha Modi said in a viral video shared on Thursday, April 24.
Her comments come after a reported fallout with Stonebwoy in 2022 over what she described as his ungratefulness.
The latest uproar was allegedly triggered by insults hurled at her by one of Stonebwoy’s bodyguards after she publicly endorsed rapper King Paluta for Artiste of the Year.
The controversial figure has vowed to make the reigning TGMA Artiste of the Year suffer, just as she claims to have done to his rival, Shatta Wale.
The enraged former Bhim Nation supporter threatened to destroy Stonebwoy’s music brand, saying she would do everything within her power to bring him down.
“He claims he is a Voltarian, but I will show him I am a Northerner. The brand Stonebwoy will suffer for the rest of his life. I helped him with a good heart, but he, his family, and fans have repaid me with evil. The Bhim Nation brand will go down the drain,” she fumed.
