Ghanaian musician King Paluta has strongly refuted claims by former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey, that his song Makoma contains profane lyrics.

During a discussion on Pulse Ghana on March 24, 2025, King Paluta labeled Okraku-Mantey’s assertion as baseless and misleading.

The controversy stemmed from a video in which Okraku-Mantey allegedly described the lyrics of Makoma as inappropriate due to a particular line: "hw3 p3 a map3 bi a manya."

King Paluta, however, clarified that the phrase simply expresses joy after finally obtaining something that was difficult to find. “If you've been looking for an item that is rare on the market and finally find it, you normally say, ‘Look at what I've been looking for, for so long,’” he explained.

Expressing his frustration, the rapper urged critics to allow artists to thrive without unnecessary hindrances. “We came to hustle, so you people should allow us to hustle. What you're doing makes it seem like you want us to go back to the streets. What you're doing won't help us," he stated.
