Richard Nii Okpoti Sowah, CEO of Rych Entertainment, recently shared his thoughts on the challenges facing Ghanaian musicians during an interview on Hot FM’s entertainment show with host Naa Kwarley.
While acknowledging the incredible talent in the industry, he stressed the lack of proper support systems that could help artists reach their full potential.
He expressed his commitment to bridging this gap by providing opportunities for talented musicians who struggle due to limited resources. His vision for Ghana’s music industry includes nurturing artists from the grassroots level and guiding them to success through structured mentorship and development.
Addressing concerns about veteran musician Kwadee’s ongoing mental health struggles, Richard pointed out the absence of systems to support artists once they are no longer actively recording. He explained that this was one of the key reasons he founded Rych Entertainment—to offer long-term support, mentorship, and career development beyond an artist’s peak years.
Richard also revealed that Blakid is the first artist signed under his label, and he remains committed to discovering and developing more creatives in the future. His ultimate goal is to redefine artist management in Ghana, ensuring musicians receive the resources and guidance needed to thrive in the industry.
