The 11th edition of Global Fashion Week took place on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the Marriot Hotel in Accra.

The event showcased a stunning array of designs from some of Ghana's most talented fashion designers.

The occasion was graced by Amelia Edwards, the Second Secretary of the Australian High Commission in Ghana, along with several high-ranking officials from the commission. The event highlighted a unique blend of Australia's vibrant fashion industry and Ghana's celebrated fashion scene.

In her brief speech, Emelia Edwards explained that their continued partnership with the event is driven by their commitment to economically empowering women and supporting Ghanaian creatives. She emphasized that the combination of Australia's rich fashion history and Ghana's renowned textile industry holds great potential for global success with the right investment.

Edwards also highlighted the commission's ongoing support for Ghanaian women, noting that the fashion industry provides another avenue to empower them. Among the designers who showcased their impressive work were Emerging Designs, Gladys Mamle Designs, Diana, Etornam, and Justine Designs.

Speaking to the press after the event, the designers expressed their gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to present their collections to a global audience.
