American media mogul, Oprah Winfrey, has denied claims that she received $1 million to endorse Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate in the recent U.S. presidential election.
The allegations originated from a report by the Washington Examiner, which suggested that Winfrey's company, Harpo Productions, was paid to organise a celebrity town hall in support of Harris in September.
In response, Winfrey firmly dismissed the claim, telling TMZ, “Not true. I was paid nothing, ever.”
She clarified that her support for Harris was entirely unpaid, countering the speculation surrounding her involvement in the campaign.
Winfrey chose not to comment further on the election outcome, which saw Donald Trump of the Republican Party declared as the President-elect.
