Former member of Shatta Wale's now-defunct Militants, Captan has opened up about how the success of his collaboration with the dancehall star Shatta Wale had a surprising impact on his personal life.
In an interview with ace broadcaster Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM, Captan revealed that after the release of their hit track, his landlady unexpectedly increased his rent.
"After the release of our track together (with Shatta Wale), my landlady suddenly increased my rent from GHS700 to GHS1,300," Captan shared during the interview.
He explained that the rent hike was an eye-opener for him, pushing him to strive for greater success in his career. "It pushed me to work harder and elevate my standards. I dedicated myself to achieving the level of success that Wale envisioned for me," he added.
The artist's reflections highlight the pressures and challenges that can come with fame, particularly for those in the early stages of their careers.
Despite the setback, Captan remains determined to continue growing as a musician and building on the foundation laid by his time with Shatta Wale.
