‘If you don't want to be my fan because of political differences, so be it’ — James Gardiner

‘If you dont want to be my fan because of political differences, so be it’ — James Gardiner

Ghanaian actor James Gardiner has defended his right to share his political views openly without fear of losing fans over differences in opinion.

In an interview, the actor addressed concerns over his support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2020 elections along with other celebrities.

He acknowledged that his political views may influence some people but stressed that he is not forcing anyone to vote a certain way.

“If because I don't support what you support, you are not going to be a fan of mine, that's okay and it means you were probably not supposed to be a fan in the first place because everyone has a choice and I can't do what you want,” said the actor.

"Yes, maybe I may be someone who may influence a couple of people when it comes to what I choose but I am not pointing a weapon at anyone to say he or she should vote for someone by hook or crook, being able to vote means you are mature enough to decide,” he added.

Going into the 2024 polls, the renowned filmmaker advised, “Times are hard especially when it comes to business not thriving as it used to be, I feel Ghanaians should use whatever it is that they are going through, to vote on what they feel is best for them.”
