Popular Ghanaian actor James Gardiner has urged Ghanaians to vote in the 2024 elections based on their current situations and what policies they feel will most benefit them.
Speaking to the media, Gardiner said "Times are hard especially when it comes to business not thriving as it used to be, I feel Ghanaians should use whatever it is that they are going through, to vote on what they feel is best for them."
He acknowledged that celebrities endorsing political parties may influence some voters.
However, the renowned filmmaker emphasized that everyone has the right to make their own choices.
"I will not be fazed with that because everyone has opinions and choices. I don't have a problem with whoever is judging me from behind the camera saying 'why are you the one joining this'," Gardiner stated.
The actor said voters should decide based on their own assessments rather than be swayed by endorsements.
“Being able to vote means you are mature enough to decide," he asserted.
James Gardiner also noted that he will not apologize for openly supporting a party of his choice.
“If I make my own decision, how is that your problem? If I choose to follow any political party and I decide to come public with it, it means it's my choice," he said.
The actor supported the National Democratic Congress in the 2020 elections.
