Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been released from prison the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after serving a six-month sentence.

Bobrisky was incarcerated for abusing the naira by spraying it at parties, a practice deemed illegal under Nigerian law.

Bobrisky's sentence, handed down on April 12, 2024, by Justice Abimbola Awogboro, included no option for a fine, mandating the full term of imprisonment.

The controversial figure's release has sparked significant interest and discussion across social media platforms.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Bobrisky was seen with Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao, expressing joy and relief at being free again.

"I’ve missed you guys so much. I can’t wait to have you guys and give you guys what you have missed," Bobrisky said in the video, hinting at a return to the spotlight and renewed engagement with fans.

Bobrisky's incarceration and subsequent release have reignited conversations about the enforcement of currency abuse laws in Nigeria, as well as the societal implications of such high-profile cases.

The social media influencer, known for a flamboyant lifestyle and outspoken personality, continues to be a polarizing figure in Nigerian society.
