I dated someone whose child hated me so much; we had to breakup — Maame Animwaa

Ghanaian media personality Maame Animwaa has opened up about how the attitude of her ex-boyfriend's child led to the end of their relationship.

During a segment on the Toast show on GhOne TV, Animwaa revealed that her ex-boyfriend had a daughter from a previous relationship.

Despite her efforts to be kind and accommodating, the child was not receptive to her presence.

Animwaa noted that the child was fixated on the idea of her parents being together and was resistant to accepting any other woman in her father's life.

This resistance and animosity from the child ultimately led to the couple's breakup, even though Animwaa was committed to making the relationship work.

"I dated someone who had a child, and the child hated me so much. Some kids, when they are obsessed with the idea of their mom and dad being together, feel like you are coming to ruin their home. This child is the reason our relationship did not work.

"She basically wanted her mother and father to be together. To be clear, I was not in the picture when the man and her mother were together; I came later. I heard I was not the first person; it was a pattern," she explained.

Animwaa shared that she has learned valuable lessons from this experience and hopes to apply them in her future relationships.
