Ghanaian TikTok star Asantewaa has revealed that her monthly income from content creation on the popular short video platform never falls below $500.
In an interview with Accra-based TV3’s 'The Day Show' last Saturday, Asantewaa said she receives her money on the 15th of every month.
"I make a lot of money on TikTok. It's from the views, I directly make money from TikTok. My lowest is nothing below $500. Every fifteenth of every month it comes," stated Asantewaa.
The social media personality, whose real name is Martina Dwamena, has amassed millions of followers on TikTok by sharing comedic and dance videos.
TikTok pays according to authentic views and engagement levels thourgh its Creator Reward Program, meaning that the more creative and engaging content you post, the more you're rewarded.
Videos start earning rewards once they hit 1,000 qualified views, and the content also must adhere to requirements about originality, content and more.
Aside from joining the Creativity Program, users can also use its ad platform to run native ads on a user's feed.
Asantewaa affirmed that she uses negative comments as motivation to produce even more engaging content.
“I will use them [the hateful things they say] to make money," she remarked.
