Efia Odo, Sista Afia beef: ‘Beefing’ involves releasing content, information meant to hurt the opponent; not when to quote Matthew — Arnold

Entertainment pundit Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has waded into the ongoing feud between Efia Odo and Sista Afia, asserting that only those who lack a basic understanding of the music industry and beef (a lyrical feud between two artists) would find fault with it.

Reacting to his co-pundits' opinions on the United Showbiz show, Arnold emphasized that beefing involves releasing content and information meant to hurt the opponent.

"How can we discuss beef in the music industry and have people quote Matthew and Jacob? Some are saying we should justify why there should be dissing in beef songs, while others are saying that in the context of beefing, musicians should sing about their achievements when they are in the booth."

Arnold explained that the essence of beef is to deliver heavy punch lines.

"Let's be realistic, anyone who has an issue with the ongoing beef between Sista Afia and Efia Odo does not have a grasp of what the music industry is about and lacks a basic understanding of what beef is all about," he stated on the United Showbiz show hosted by MzGee.

He further noted that during beefs, musicians are not required to justify the content they produce against their opponents. The focus should be on which song causes heavy punch lines.

"Recently, Kendrick and Drake were at each other, and Drake said Kendrick beats his wife. Did anyone call Drake to justify his claims? This is because with beefing, the mindset is that I am doing something to hurt you, and I am doing a song that will cause people to mock you."

Arnold also referenced the long history of beef in the music industry, stating, "In the same beef, Kendrick also alleged that Drake has fathered another child. Did anyone call him to justify? This characteristic of beef can be traced back as far as 1995 when Tupac and Biggie had their beef."
