The manager of actress and entrepreneur Fella Makafui has clarified that she was not arrested as previously reported, but was rather invited to assist with an investigation.
Richmond Amofa Sarpong took to social media on Thursday, May 24, to set the record straight about reports circulating that Fella Makafui had been arrested.
"Please disregard the reports about Actress Fella Makafui's arrest. She was invited yesterday and departed soon after respectfully honouring the invitation," he wrote.
According to Mr. Sarpong, Fella Makafui shared all necessary information with investigators about her herbal products to assist their investigation.
She presented her license from the Ghana Traditional Medicine Practice Council as well as details of her FDA-registered products.
Fella Makafui also provided information on a few products still undergoing registration.
"Additionally, she provided information on the few products still undergoing the registration process," Mr. Sarpong quoted.
The clarification comes after earlier reports that Fella Makafui had been arrested by investigative firm ISPYGH 247 in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council Ghana.
It was alleged that she had been selling unregistered herbal drugs and products on social media.
A range of herbal products were said to have been seized from her business.
