We live in a country in which it's gradually becoming impossible for popular or unknown personalities to die a natural death. Lots of meanings were read into Mufti's departure likewise that of Terry Bonchaka, Suzzy Williams just to mention but a few.

Just a week after the “Ngozi man”, Michael Dwamenah went to be with the Lord the speculators and the rumor creators are at their seasonal best piling up stories upon stories one can hardly read any constructive meaning into.

Word has it that Michael die because he had swallowed pellets of cocaine which had exploded in his stomach. Its been said that he was able to beat immigration but he couldn't deliver the pellets on time until they exploded leading into severe stomach ache which took his life away even before they could get to the nearest hospital.

As if this defaming claim is not enough, the other group of “Conan the Destroyers” are adding their version that he died out of food poising by a fellow musician but the rate at which his current hit song “Ngozi” is sweeping through the country if care is not taking he would cause a massive stir in the annals of Ghanaian music.

But to close friends and acquaintances of Michael they don't see reason in all of these rumors. Though the adage goes; there is no smoke without fire, those are bent on not allowing nature to take its path should learn to be modest in such proclamations.

Speaking profoundly of Michael on Radio Gold last Saturday, the ace radio presenter, BB Menson described Michael as someone devoid of any of such rumors. He went further to add that Michael had this particular attitude of not seeking medical treatment for his ailments which to him, BB might have brought about this calamity. All said and done he is gone and it is not unto us to live our lives worthy of emulation for great and unending tributes to be told about us when we are also gone.

Michael Dwamena, a Royal from Kwahu Mpraeso, was born on May 30, 1964 at Sekondi in the Western Region. He schooled at Takoradi Secondary School after which he traveled to Belgium under the sponsorship of a Belgian lady he later married. Until his death, Michael resided in New York and is a direct cousin of Papa Owusu Ankomah, Member of Parliament for Sekondi. He was survived by a wife and four children.

Noted for his hiplife tunes like 'Tibidi' 'Christie', his music became a toast for local Ghanaian youthful fans. He had a glittering and eventful music career and caused a stir on the Zimbabwe music charts with his even classic “Ice cream man'. Some of the albums Michael managed to release were include Chaskele and Prayer. His latest single “Ngozi” has enjoyed massive airplay for the some time now.
